Gianluca and Massimiliano De Serio are pursuing a large-scale project based on love and its implication for the soul in relationships between people living with physical handicaps. This includes fragments of a potentially infinite network of feelings, social structures, exclusion and attempts at integration. Their subjects live in an apartment in Turin managed by a social cooperative which tries to organize their daily lives and help them at various social levels.
The first work in this series introduces us to Salvatore, a man whose entire life is a transcendental love story. For him, all actions, human relationships, daily events and the whole universe are focused exclusively on the figure of his beloved Maria Teresa. His love is blind, thoughtful, and absolute. Fond of stars, galaxies, and constellations that exist in an absurd order in his imagination, Salvatore describes his feelings through the naming and reinvention of his universe: at the moment he tries to describe his love poetically, he outlines his own self-portrait. Thanks to the purest expression of a love story, Salvatore reclaims his own identity and, through the camera, re-elaborates his own experience of love by sharing it with the audience in its anarchic and liberating scope, both contradictory and paradoxical, involving improvisation, poetry, free play, confession, prayer and setting.
